We’ve been taking a look, over the past few weeks, at what Jesus had to say to the 7 churches of Asia, in Revelation 2 and 3. Tonight’s show takes a look at the church in Laodicea and what all was going on there. This was a church under the influence of a powerful delusion; the delusion that just because everything was going well and they were more than prosperous and, oddly enough, really had no pressing need of anything from God, or so they thought, that they were experiencing God’s extravagant and abundant blessing. In reality, it was their prosperity that fed fuel to the delusion. Jesus tells them to buy their gold from HIM; to clothe their nakedness with clothes from HIM; and to find salve for their eyes so they could see and not be blind and to buy it from HIM. The church in Laodicea, like so many churches in America today, believes the wrong stuff about circumstances for all the wrong reasons and glories in their error.
